MONTPELIER, Vt. While it is well known that Vermont alpine resorts offer the best skiing and riding in the east, not everyone knows what deals are available on lift tickets. Following is a quick rundown of some of the specials that visitors and Vermont residents can find. Some of the deals are not available during holiday periods, so it is always adviseable to check with the resort directly.
ASCUTNEY MOUNTAIN RESORT (www.ascutney.com) 2 For Tuesdays Skiers and riders reap the benefits of 2 for 1 lift ticket savings on Tuesdays, during non-holiday weeks. Tele Thursdays Telemark skiers ski all day on Thursdays for just $25 during non-holiday weeks. Ascutney‚s rich telemark culture celebrates free heel freedom each Thursday with an apres ski party at 5:00 p.m. in Brown‚s Tavern, with live entertainment. For guests looking to join in, Ascutney will offer a clinic by the North American Telemark Organization March 4-5, 2006. VT/NH Sundays Vermont and New Hampshire residents ski and ride for $25 Sunday afternoons beginning at 12:30 p.m. Proof of residency is required. For seniors and teens, the Vermonter rate is $32 versus $36. And, for children, the rate is $25 versus $28.
